Santa Coloma de Farners
Santa Coloma de Farners is the capital of the county of La Selva. This municipality is located in the centre of the county, in an unbeatable setting between the plain, the mountains and the town stream, with an incredibly varied landscape. A 17th-century wine press is also located in the centre of Santa Coloma de Farners. This device, dating from 1693, is the only one of its kind in Europe that’s still preserved on its original site. One can’t leave the town without visiting two of its most important historical constructions: Farners Castle, an 11th-century Romanesque fortification, and the 18th-century Chapel of Farners, built in the Romanesque style.
