The history of Lloret and its seafaring past have handed down a wealth of culinary heritage.
During the month of October a number of restaurants in Lloret de Mar stage their Art gastronomy days, serving up creative dishes on a specialist menu, dedicated solely to fish and seafood caught along the Mediterranean coast here.
This gastronomic initiative, organised by the Association of Bars and Restaurants of Lloret, the Lloret Hospitality Trade Association and the local tourist board, Lloret Turisme, involves some of the town’s leading hotels and restaurants, offering their patrons a wide range of culinary produce of the highest quality.
The name of the event refers in fact to the traditional method of net fishing used only in Lloret de Mar, and known as “casting by art”.
