The hazelnuts grown in Selva, mainly of the negreta variety, are of excellent quality. They’re mostly cultivated in the area around the village of Brunyola and can be eaten on their own (raw, roasted, fried or salted) or as an ingredient in sauces, picada (Catalan style pesto), desserts, etc.
