Ratafia
Ratafia is an alcoholic drink obtained by macerating various ingredients in distilled spirits for 40 days in the open air. More than 100 different ingredients can be used in the recipe, including fruits, medicinal herbs, roots, pine nuts and spices. It’s worth noting that the first recipes for ratafia in Catalonia, dating from 1842, were found in the historical archive of Francesc Rosquellas, a native of Santa Coloma de Farners.
