Church of Sant Pere Desplà
The Church of Sant Pere Desplà is located in a superb setting. Its elevated position in the Arbúcies Valley offers amazing views of the Guilleries and Montseny massifs. It was the centre of an ancient rural parish dependent on Arbúcies that dates back to at least 923 AD.
The church is a very well preserved 12th-century Romanesque construction carefully built from well-cut ashlar blocks. It is composed of a rectangular nave and a semicircular apse at the east end. It is entered through the doorway on the south façade. Noteworthy elements have been preserved in the interior, such as some sections of the 10th-century pre-Romanesque church that preceded it, which feature interesting traces of painted decorative motifs.
