La Cuina a Sils is a culinary association founded in the 1990s with the aim of restoring and preserving the rich gastronomic heritage of Sils. The group is mainly made up of women, and has its origins in the associations of local grandmothers, whose know-how, handed down by word-of-mouth from generation to generation, comprises a vast and varied range of traditional local culinary wisdom. This whole wealth of experience and knowledge of the cooking of yore now has a profile which goes beyond the region, building bridges and creating a positive image for the district.
- La Selva Hospitality Trade Association (La Selva Gastronòmica)
Passeig Sant Salvador, 25-27 – 17430 Santa Coloma de Farners
Formed by a group of restaurateurs and hoteliers from all round the district, who came together to link up their establishments in the hospitality sector across what is a hugely varied region. The fact that the district differs so greatly from one town to the next made it necessary to establish a group which could combine efforts and synergies so as to unify and promote the gastronomic offering of the area as a whole, while showcasing elements shared in common.
- La Cuina Tradicional Tossenca
17320 Tossa de Mar
The cuisine of Tossa de Mar has been strongly influenced by local characteristics, although it is the passage of time, the influence of different cultures and lifestyles among the population which have kept it constantly evolving, shaping a distinctive gastronomical culture in Tossa, similar to that of neighbouring towns, but also with marked differences. Fresh fish and seafood are unquestionably among the most commonly used ingredients in local cooking, as fishing has always been a traditional activity.
